BUENOS AIRES BUILDINGS in black & white

Molinari portrayed Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina, with a perspective far from the usual and obvious aesthetic conditioning. His point of view is unique. Ignoring the touristy side from the very beginning, Molinari points his lens toward unprecedented, anonymous glimpses that are mute in their absolute, objective silence. There are white, smooth, and bright walls. Basic architecture made of somber, minimal geometric forms. Molinari observes a city that belongs to the world without any peculiar hints that could give away its identity. We could be in South America or elsewhere, among a cluster of bare buildings whose only purpose is housing. Inside these cement blocks, life exists. Time consumes days, and meanwhile, it wears out the structures, which are disturbing yet inexpressive. From a purely urbanist point of view, it resembles Europe in the 1970s, considering the time span as a meaningful characteristic of these neighborhoods.
